I am delighted to invite you to register to the 2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE of the EUROPEAN SECTION of the INTERNATIONAL WINE LAWYERS ASSOCIATION which will be held from Thursday 19th April to Saturday 21st April 2018 in Mainz (the main conference day is on Friday 20th, April 2018).
The conference itself and the social events will provide numerous opportunities to meet your colleagues of the European Section of IWLA and to enjoy the city of Mainz, as well as the beauty of Rheinhessen region, the viticulture area around Mainz, where we shall have the pleasure to taste many wonderful wines!


Before the conference, on Thursday afternoon, 19th April 2018, there will be a board meeting (only for board members) which will be followed in the evening by a dinner for the members of the European Section of IWLA and their accompanying persons.
On Friday 20th April 2018, starting at 09h 00 and until 16h 30, we shall have our conference, with the following topic:

“The interaction of professionals in the application of law of wine and vine.
From the acquisition of land to the preparation of the vine for the harvest”

The annual conference will include many informative presentations and discussions, also interesting speaker sessions on a variety of European wine laws and practices, including lunch buffet and coffees/tea breaks for delegate members. The languages of the conference are French and English. Simultaneous translation will be also provided. At the end of the conference day, we shall have our annual general assembly of the European Section of IWLA and there will be held elections for another three year mandate of the new President and the new board of the European Section of IWLA. 


A city tour will be also organised for accompanying persons on Friday April 20th 2018, followed by lunch buffet at the conference place.

In the evening of Friday 20th April 2018, there will be the traditional Gala Dinner, for members and their accompanying persons as well as for conference guests.
Saturday 21st April 2018, from morning to late afternoon, there will be organised a trip to famous Rheinhessen wine region where we shall have lunch and wine tastings. In the evening, upon return from Rheinhessen wine region, participants will have free time to enjoy Mainz at their choice.
